Robert Kupper joined LPA in1974 as a senior designer less than ten years after it had been founded. During his early years at the firm, Kupper’s design expertise was instrumental in fostering LPA's history of design excellence within the profession. He has achieved recognition for Chapman University Sports Complex, Yuba City Hall and Larkspur Landing Retail Center among other projects which expanded on the firm’s expertise and exposure in other regions.
With more than 40 years of experience in the architectural and construction profession, Kupper continued to expand his project design expertise until being elected to CEO in 1990.
Today as CEO of the firm, his responsibility includes oversight of corporate management where he utilizes his organizational, analytical and creative skills developed over the many years of practice at LPA. Kupper’s tenure as CEO has seen the firm grow in both expertise and size from a small local firm to its current staff of more than 300, with offices throughout California and Texas.
Kupper received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Arizona. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and a LEED Accredited Professional.
