LPA is providing reimaging design services for the 2150 North First Street project—an original six-story building designed by LPA in the mid-1980s. The project is home to approximately 123,000 square feet of office space to support the North San Jose technology marketplace. The integrated design team focused their efforts on providing a meaningful connection between innovative end-users and the environments that support their collaborative efforts.
The scope of enhancements starts with a rebranding of the site through monument signage and lighting that clearly identifies the building as a destination. The two building entries are supported by exterior spaces such as social, formal and informal gathering spaces to encourage the 24/7 workplace lifestyle. Lobbies are skinned in new perimeter clear glazing that removes the traditional building edge and promotes visual access and pedestrian flow between interior and exterior spaces. Elevator cores are clad in light that allows the interior to glow as a lantern to the site. Additional amenities include fitness and meeting centers.
