The Mt. San Jacinto Community College District master plan equally addresses the needs and potential of three campuses and creates a cohesive plan that guides their development and growth. While maintaining a global vision, each of the Mt. San Jacinto College campus' required a unique solution for their master plans. One of those campuses, the 51-acre San Gorgonio campus master plan, is focused around an existing water basin that runs through the whole campus. The gifts and opportunities of the San Gorgonio Pass were leveraged to lay out the campus plan. An existing drainage creek becomes the heart of the campus' natural landscape quad. The drain system is further optimized by creating a detention pond/landscape feature, which allows the site to achieve zero runoff.
