Steve Flanagan joined LPA in 1994 and has more than 30 years of experience. Twenty two of those years have been dedicated to the design and construction of educational and sport and recreation projects. He is currently the Managing Director of the Higher Education Group and Sport and Recreation practice.

As a leader in educational facility design, Flanagan has served as the Higher Education Subcommittee Chairman for the American Institute of Architect Committee on Architecture in Education (AIACAE) and was the moderator for an AIA CAE webinar titled 21st Century Learning Environments, everyone’s talking about it but what is it really? Flanagan has also presented at national and regional conferences including the Society of University and College Planners (SCUP) and the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA),where LPA’s higher education projects have won multiple national design awards.

Flanagan earned a Bachelor’s of Architecture from the University of Kentucky. He also volunteers his time as a board member for a non-profit youth soccer organization that provides recreational and competitive programs to more than 4,000 kids annually.
